Job Summary and Responsibilities

Northridge Hospital Medical Center is seeking an experienced and highly skilled MRI Tech II to join our dynamic team. This role requires an individual who can exercise independent judgment and problem-solving abilities while maintaining a commitment to providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment.


The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge and proficiency in all aspects of MRI operation, patient care, and quality assurance.


Responsibilities:

  • Independently execute a wide spectrum of MRI examinations, including complex and specialized protocols, ensuring optimal image quality and patient safety.
  • Prepare patients for procedures by clearly explaining the process, addressing concerns, obtaining patient history, verifying orders, and assessing for any contraindications.  
  • Administer intravenous contrast media as required, strictly adhering to safety protocols and closely monitoring patients for potential adverse reactions.
  • Operate and maintain MRI equipment, which includes performing routine quality control checks and troubleshooting minor technical issues. Significant equipment malfunctions must be reported to the appropriate personnel.
  • Process and meticulously review all images to ensure accuracy and completeness before transmission to the radiologists for interpretation.

This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement.


Job Requirements
  • Associate of Arts must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a hospital and radiology department, with previous supervisory experience required.
  • Bachelor of Science must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a hospital and radiology department, with previous supervisory experience required.
  • CA Medical Radiographer (CA MRAD) required.
  • Registered Technologist Radiology (ARRT) required. 
  • (national) CRT (state) and Fluoroscopy certification required.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support Cert (AHA BLS) required. 
  • Fire Safety card (must be obtained within 90 days of start date) required.
