Job Summary and Responsibilities

Do you thrive in a dynamic laboratory environment and possess strong leadership potential? If so, we invite you to join our growing team as a Laboratory Technical Coordinator!

The Laboratory Tech Coordinator will assist the supervisor and work independently on Microbiology Quality Assurance instrument and procedure validations, and day-to-day workflow and efficiencies. We are a full-service regional microbiology lab with routine molecular, rapid cultures, AFB, and Fungus specialties as well. Experience in Microbiology is required.

Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as the primary technical resource for all testing procedures, instrumentation, and methodologies within the designated laboratory area.
  • Optimize workflow and instrument utilization to maximize efficiency and turnaround times.
  • Participate in laboratory audits and inspections.
  • Perform root cause analysis for identified issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Generate reports on quality metrics, instrument performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate effectively with laboratory management, medical directors, and other laboratory departments.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a chemical or biological science as defined by CLIA. required.
  • 2 years of clinical lab experience in the designated lab area/speciality required. 
  • CA Clinical Laboratory Science License (CLS License) required

Preferred: 

  • Clinical Laboratory departments (AU750000): 
    • MT or CLS or MLS certification, ASCP or equivalent (per requirement sheet)
