The posted compensation range of $24.00 - $24.86 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Environmental Services Technician, you'll keep our patient rooms and all areas of the hospital clean and sanitized. This protects everyone from potential illness or injury due to infectious diseases or other hazards.
Every day, you will perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, or dusting. You will also use specialized equipment and techniques to sanitize our facility further. This role requires you to learn and adhere to proper disposal techniques for biohazard materials, including bodily fluids or sharp objects. You may also refill soap dispensers, paper towel dispensers, and other supplies, as well as deliver clean linens.

- Cleans assigned areas according to established standards and the 12-step cleaning process.
- Sweeps, dusts, vacuums, and mops in assigned areas using automatic scrub/buffer equipment as needed.
- Arranges and/or moves furniture in patient and non-patient care areas according to room setup.
- Ensure equipment is working before use.
- Documents and reports items/equipment needing repair and hazardous conditions requiring correction.
- Stock supply cart for assigned areas with the proper equipment needed to complete the assigned shift.
This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Job RequirementsRequired
- Requires basic education to understand and follow standard practice or oral and written instructions, able to speak, read, and write English, use simple arithmetic, keep simple records, or use simple office machines
- Fire Safety (within 90 Days from start date) required.
Preferred
- High School Graduate or GED
- Previous 6 months of janitorial experience in a healthcare environment
