Join our dedicated team of healthcare professionals at Northridge Hospital Medical Center as a Clinical Dietitian. We are seeking an experienced and compassionate dietitian to provide expert nutritional care to our patients, ensuring they receive the best possible guidance for their dietary needs during their hospital stay.
Responsibilities
- Work efficiently and effectively in the fast-paced environment of a trauma and stroke center.
- Consult and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary medical team on nutrition-related matters.
- Participate in care planning meetings, rounds, and test trays in the kitchen to discuss patient needs and ensure effective communication.
- Meet with doctors regularly to provide updates on patients' nutritional status and recommendations.
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for patients, considering medical history, current health status, and dietary needs.
- Regularly evaluate and adjust the care plans based on patient progress and changing needs.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of tube feeding protocols, formulas, and administration techniques.
- Monitor patients receiving tube feeding for tolerance, complications, and effectiveness.
- Accurately and comprehensively document all patient assessments, care plans, actions taken, and progress notes in the medical record.
- Stay up-to-date on current nutrition research and best practices.
- Work independently, managing workload and prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Be proactive in identifying and addressing nutrition-related issues.
Qualifications
- Minimum one (1) year experience as a Registered Dietitian.
- Working experience in an acute care hospital is highly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or related field
- Valid registration as a Registered Dietitian
- Fire Safety Card (must obtain within 90 days of start date.)
