The posted compensation range of $52.04 - $77.42 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a CLS Med Tech, you will accurately analyze and report all tests ordered by the Medical Staff promptly and according to laboratory procedures and regulatory guidelines to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Every day, you will be using technical skills, instrumentation, and information systems, providing essential clinical laboratory support while ensuring the quality and accuracy of all tests under leadership direction.
To be successful in this role requires an experienced Clinical Laboratory Scientist understanding sample processing and result interpretation, prioritizing chemical and biological safety, and being adept at operating and maintaining lab equipment. The ideal candidate will:
- Demonstrated experience with laboratory instrumentation and methodologies across various departments (e.g., Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunohematology).
- Proficiency in performing complex laboratory tests, analyzing results, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Strong understanding of quality control, quality assurance, and laboratory safety protocols.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
- Minimum one year of experience in an acute care facility required.
- Bachelor's Degree in a biological or chemical science as defined by CLIA
- Must be appropriately trained in clinical laboratory science as evaluated by the Director of the Clinical Laboratory
- California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License (CLS) required.
- A current Los Angeles County fire card is required.
Preferred:
- Must be proficient in the Core lab to include Chemistry/Heme/USC.
- Blood Bank preferred.
- Experience in an acute care hospital setting is also preferred.
