The posted compensation range of $25.25 - $36.61 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Responsibilities
Northridge Hospital Medical Center has an exciting opportunity for a Care Authorization Specialist to lead and manage the daily operations of our Behavioral Health Office and TAR Unit. You'll be instrumental in ensuring efficient and effective service delivery, contributing to the success of our team and the well-being of our patients.
- Manages the daily operations of the Behavioral Health TAR Unit,
- Overseeing clerical, administrative, and support staff.
- Responsible for day to day operations of the Behavioral Health TAR Unit.
- Ensures efficient and effective processing of Treatment Authorization Requests (TARs) by overseeing all related processes and administrative duties, including departmental scheduling, insurance verification and authorization.
- TAR management and reconciliation, medical record management, policies and procedures, filing systems, and office inventory control.
- Coordinates research-related TAR procedures, implements systems to streamline services, and maintains monthly reports on financial performance, staffing, and unit activity.
- Responsible for day to day operations of the Behavioral Health TAR Unit.
Qualifications
- 2 years of previous administrative work experience or equivalent work experience in a hospital setting.
- 2 years physician practice/medical office experience, preferably in the area of inpatient services.
- 5+ years of operations management in hospital setting preferred
- Experience demonstrating the ability to handle multiple tasks frequently with short time lines, to prioritize and organize work
and to complete work in a timely, accurate manner or a comparable level of education and experience. - Bachelor degree preferred
This position is represented by SEIU UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
