The posted compensation range of $30.54 - $34.33 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Unit Coordinator, you will be a vital caregiver and the central hub, assuming responsibility for patient care processes from newborn to geriatric for a designated time frame. You will directly contribute to safe, therapeutic patient care while serving as the primary receptionist and secretary.
Every day you will support safe patient care through multidisciplinary processes and coordinating unit activities. You will efficiently manage information flow and assist healthcare team members in delivering care across all patient age groups.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, a proactive approach to managing day-to-day operations, and a commitment to providing safe, therapeutic care while working effectively with the entire healthcare team.
- Receives, organizes, and directs information that comes to the unit; answers the telephone and directs calls, records and relays messages, photocopies reports/information, files information, maintains and is accountable for the location, function, and cleaning of the telemetry units.
- Interacts professionally and appropriately with visitors, families, and others. Supports patient satisfaction goals and expectations.
- Performs patient care under the direction of the RN which includes assisting with patient ADL routine, measurement of intake and output, mobility activities and obtaining vital signs.
- Completes appropriate documentation which includes patient records, ensuring it is completed according to hospital policy. Performs other clerical duties related to procedures such as admissions, discharge, transfer, organ donation, and death
- Requisitions supplies, equipment, maintenance and repair services. Prepares related form.
- Maintains Monitor Technician Certificate and able to competently perform telemetry monitoring.
Job Requirements
Required
- Previous experience as a Unit Coordinator II/Tech or similar position in an acute care facility or Nursing assistant course and/or patient care experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through an American Heart Association Provider
- Score of 88% on Monitor Technician exam
- Competent to perform telemetry monitoring
- Monitor Certificate (to be obtained within 60 days of hire into the position)
Preferred
- High School Graduate
- Nursing unit clerical experience
