Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Patient Access Representative Sr, you will play a pivotal role in the revenue cycle by managing complex registration workflows and ensuring operational excellence within our hospital access areas. You will serve as a key resource for your team, providing expert guidance on insurance verification, benefits review, and patient financial responsibility. By collaborating with clinical departments and revenue cycle partners, you will help resolve complex access issues, reduce delays in care, and uphold our commitment to high-quality, relationship-based patient experiences.

Every day you will perform patient registration and admitting functions across key access points, including the Emergency Department and main registration. You will utilize multiple healthcare systems to accurately document encounters, verify insurance coverage, and communicate financial estimates to patients. During high-volume or high-acuity periods, you will demonstrate flexibility by supporting various access workflows, assisting team members with problem-solving, and ensuring all regulatory and privacy compliance standards are met.

To be successful in this role, you must have demonstrated proficiency in insurance verification, benefits review, and navigating non-standard registration workflows. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills, the ability to manage complex tasks effectively, and a passion for supporting operational efficiency in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

  • Complex Financial Navigation: Manage moderately complex registration scenarios, including insurance verification, benefits review, and clear communication of patient financial responsibilities, coverage limitations, and collection of payments at the time of service.
  • Operational Support & Collaboration: Support team efficiency by flexing across access points during high-volume periods, collaborating with clinical and revenue cycle teams to resolve discrepancies, and acting as an informal resource to less experienced staff.
  • Compliance & Policy Adherence: Maintain strict compliance with organizational policies, privacy standards, and regulatory requirements while upholding the highest ethical and professional standards in all interactions.
