Responsibilities

CommonSpirit Health at Home is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of EMR Operations to lead the strategic optimization of our electronic medical record (EMR) system. This pivotal role requires a visionary leader who is committed to improving clinical and operational workflows, enhancing data quality, and elevating the user experience—all aimed at fostering better patient care and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive EMR optimization strategy that aligns with organizational objectives.
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs), establish measurable targets, and track progress.
- Foster the development of best practices for clinical and operational continuity.
Workflow Analysis & Improvement:
- Conduct thorough assessments of existing EMR workflows to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks.
- Design and implement solutions to streamline processes and enhance productivity.
Training & Education:
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for clinicians, leaders, and staff on optimal EMR utilization, emphasizing best practices and troubleshooting techniques.
- Oversee ongoing education and support initiatives.
System Configuration & Customization:
- Collaborate with IT and vendor representatives to optimize system configuration and customize settings to meet evolving needs.
Change Management:
- Lead and manage change associated with EMR optimization initiatives, ensuring effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
Reporting & Analytics:
- Develop regular reports on EMR performance, highlighting trends and areas for improvement.
Business Partner Management:
- Manage relationships with EMR business partners to ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of EMR Specialists and support staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare informatics, nursing, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years in healthcare IT, with a focus on EMR optimization and workflow improvement.
- Proven leadership experience with a track record of managing teams.
- Basic knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance reimbursement.
- Proficiency in Google Suite and strong computer skills.
- Enthusiastic about providing high-quality data services, with a focus on data accuracy and productivity.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; displays a welcoming and diplomatic demeanor.
- Comprehensive understanding of EMR systems, including functionality, data structures, and reporting capabilities.
- Expertise in workflow analysis, process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma), and change management principles.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of translating complex data into actionable insights.
- Strong organizational skills; adept at planning and managing multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Home Care Home Base and Epic EMRs is highly desired.
- Project management experience and certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
