Responsibilities
The Lead Rad Tech oversees the daily operations of the radiology department, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality imaging, and patient safety. This role involves performing complex radiographic procedures, training and mentoring other technologists, maintaining equipment, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. The Lead Rad Tech also collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care and contribute to the overall success of the imaging department.
- Able to perform the clerical functions of order entry and film sign out with the use of the computer system as well as being able to file/retrieve films and hang/remove films from film viewers
- Displays competency operating teleradiology system.
- Displays competency operating equipment and performing procedures in the department, in the operating room, and on a mobile basis.
- Accurately marks all radiographs with side and position. Assures that the patient information is clearly visible.
- Practices good sterile technique when required and utilizes universal precautions and other infection control practices as appropriate.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested
Qualifications
Minimum:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Graduate from an approved Radiological Technology Program
- (5) years experience as a Radiologic Technologist and demonstrated excellence in all aspects of Diagnostic Radiology
- STATE: Must hold and maintain AZ DHS Bureau of Special Licensing CRT: Certified Radiologic Technologist (CT CRT)
- NATIONAL: Must also hold and maintain national American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (CT ARRT)
- American Heart Association-issued Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CT CPRBLS)
