The posted compensation range of $18.83 - $25.89 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Responsibilities
A Pharmacy Technician plays a vital role in supporting pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications to patients, ensuring accuracy and compliance with hospital protocols and safety standards. Responsibilities include managing inventory, restocking automated dispensing machines, labeling and packaging prescriptions, and maintaining accurate records. Working closely with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals, the technician helps ensure timely medication delivery and contributes to the overall efficiency of the hospital’s pharmacy operations. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to patient safety are essential in this fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Prepares and labels intravenous admixtures or other sterile products (including chemotherapy, if certified, and parenteral nutrition) in a timely and accurate manner, utilizing available safety features (eg, barcoding on TPN compounder), and appropriate aseptic technique as outlined in USP 797 and our facility policy.
- Researches and provides information where appropriate and within the technician scope of practice; refer other inquires to a pharmacist.
- Maintains logs, records and other required documentation. Files documentation in the appropriate location.
- Performs scheduled QA responsibilities, unit inspections, outdate medication tracking and other assigned duties.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- High School Diploma/GED or Official Transcripts
- AZ Pharmacy Technician License or AZ Pharmacy Intern License
Preferred:
- One year of hospital pharmacy experience
