The posted compensation range of $20.62 - $28.35 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Responsible for completing accounting functions on an accurate and timely basis within the framework of the objectives and policies established. Contributes to the development, implementation and maintenance of the accounting and financial policies and procedures. Displays professional, safe conduct in all interactions. Maintains positive working relationships with staff, other departments, physicians and peers. Displays conduct in support of CHI St. Luke’s Health Memorial Mission & Vision.

- Prepares detailed financial statements, statistical reports and departmental reports
- Prepares journal entries to reflect changes or corrections to inventory and reserve accounts in accordance with GAAP.
- Analyzes capital reserve levels related to malpractice, worker’s compensation and group health benefits.
- Prepares recommendations for adjustments to the general ledger accounts.
- Assists departments in researching questions relating to inventory issues and reserve.
- Communicates results of financial information the executive team.
- Assists in the compilation of schedules required by the annual audit.
- Assists with the capital budget process. Includes training classes, prep work for capital budget process, as well as the review meetings.
- Prepares reconciliations of the cash accounts, maintains a fixed asset inventory and reconciles it to the general ledger.
- Reconciles the Balance Sheet accounts and maintains a monthly reconciliation spreadsheets.
- Organizes and perform special studies and summarize results and recommendations in reports relevant to management.
- Assists the department in special projects as needed
- Demonstrates tact and professionalism in working and communicating with patients/families, physicians, other members of the team, and other employees of the healthcare system.
- Adheres to CHI St. Luke’s Health Memorial policies, including but not limited to “CHI Values & Ethics at Work”, HIPPA, PHI, ePHI, Privacy Rule, and confidentiality.
- Maintains safe work habits; adheres to safety rules; immediately reports any unsafe condition; immediately reports any incident / injury.
- Supports department-based goals and contributes to the success of the organization.
- Complies with hospital policies and procedures; attends required in – services, education and training.
- Performs duties in accordance with that of hospital policies and procedures, and regulatory agency guidelines.
- Demonstrates a willingness to follow the chain of command, regularly channels suggestions, criticisms and complaints to the appropriate person.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Education Level
Required: Bachelor's Degree – Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration OR
Master’s Degree – Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
*Proficient in operation of standard office equipment
*Proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook
*Strong written and oral communication skills
*Critical thinking and analytical skills
*Ability to remain calm in a busy or stressful environment
*Excellent time management and organizational skills
Experience
Required: Two (2) years accounting experience
Preferred: Healthcare specific accounting experience
