The posted compensation range of $75.14 - $97.68 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is responsible for planning, organizing, leading, and evaluating division level clinical programs that include clinical quality, patient experience, and optimization of clinical care delivery through meaningful acquisition, analysis, and application of clinical, quality, and operational data. This position will also provide strategic direction and business oversight for the optimization and standardization of the clinical practice, EMR, and integrated applications.
The CNO leverages clinical, technological, and analytical expertise to ensure that the highest quality of care is delivered in the most fiscally responsible manner possible. Integrates metrics-driven recommendations into operational practice and performance by closely monitoring emerging changes to healthcare payment models based on value and outcomes and ensuring that the clinical informatics capabilities, in collaboration with technical teams, support these models to ensure success in future care delivery. Ensures that clinical care standards evolve with technological resources to enhance the ways care is delivered. Lead the organization to embrace use of virtual services and increased emphasis on expanding the manner in which services are provided to patients within their homes.
This leader must translate complex analytical concepts into practical clinical terms, which motivate others in the organization to challenge preconceived notions and become willing to use data insights to adopt new business practices and to be able to quantify and clearly articulate the impact on the organization’s performance. This leader will help to form and articulate the value proposition of a data-driven culture and data analytics infrastructure to external health systems in which Health at Home may partner with, manage, acquire, or in which consultative services are arranged.

- Adheres to the Corporate Compliance Program, including confidentiality of HIPAA protected health information.
- Ensures optimization of clinical and operational collaboration to drive organizational success.
- Ensure effective delivery of clinical services to patients in accordance with company clinical, strategic, quality improvement and productivity standards.
- Directs, develops, and supports the RDCS team: this includes the recruitment, selection, orientation training and professional development of the RDCS.
- Collaborates with internal associates and external vendors to ensure the highest standards and accuracy pertaining to coding, OASIS scoring, and adherence to CMS regulations.
- Aligns health information technology and clinical activities within the organization.
- Provide leadership and support for the advancement and optimization of EMR, supporting systems, and associated data analytics platforms.
- Represents clinical interests in partnerships with operational and IT leadership to translate clinical needs into information system needs.
- Collaborates with clinical leaders to promote improved visibility of clinical performance, efficiency, outcomes, patient satisfaction, quality and compliance standards.
- Manages the resources (e.g. staff, materials and finances) of the clinical staff in collaboration with operational leadership; plans and directs all clinical activities in the division.
- Develops, deploys, and maintains clinical policies, objectives, and initiatives for the division; reviews division and agency operations to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Provide guidance and counsel of key enterprise leaders to drive best in class professional development processes including clinical programs, clinical ladder, role structures to promote increasing skill sets and driving retention
- Drives the delivery of quality and cost-effective patient care; oversees the performance of clinical staff: ensures patient concerns are addressed.
- Develops the overall competency level of clinical staff.
- Drives the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) Program Coordination, through RDCS team; including assisting with the overall development and implementation of performance improvement planning, assisting in the identification of goals and patient outcomes, and implementing corrective action plans.
- Oversees the Division Regulatory Readiness Program for all state, federal, county and accrediting body surveys; assures Plans of Correction, as applicable, are developed and implemented.
- Ensures performance of clinical and operational audits occur and identify education needs.
- Guides direct reports on the development, refinement, and distribution of educational programs.
- Guides the direct reports in streamlining of organization processes and structure through innovation and data-driven decisions for performance improvements
- Oversees risk management as it pertains to Health at Home operations.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (e.g. BSN)
Required Minimum Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years of clinical experience and five (5) years of healthcare leadership experience preferred

Preferred Education and/or Experience: Advanced degree in nursing, administration, or other-related field (e.g., MSN/MBA/MHA) preferred.
