The posted compensation range of $24.00 - $29.10 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Teacher Assistant, you will be responsible for caring for children in the After School program.
Every day you will directly supervise and engage with children, ensuring their safety and well-being. This includes assisting with homework, organizing age-appropriate activities, facilitating positive social interactions, and maintaining a supportive and enriching environment after school hours.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate a nurturing and patient demeanor, strong communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and safe environment for children.
- Provide individualized tutoring for K-3rd grade children on a one-on-one basis or in small groups, focusing on reading, oral communication, literacy, and math
- Implement individual and small group lessons in accordance with the plans developed by the Education Specialist and California State Standards
- Assist with after-school and off-track recreational activities, including supervising game room and off-site field trip activities and assisting with summer events
- Assist with implementing parent involvement activities and parent-child educational projects
- Assist with assessing student learning levels and tracking progress
- Support the development of student self-esteem and self-confidences, within a positive emotional and learning environment
Job Requirements
- High School Graduate (GED)
- Other Enrollment in college-level coursework; AA degree or completion of 60 college level semester units preferred.
- Fire Safety, CPR and First Aid Cert within 90 Days of hire
