  • Responsible for the daily operations of the sterile processing department
  • Responsible for the supervision of staff assigned to sterile processing
  • Coordinates the decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, packing and sterilization of instrumentation
  • Accountable for maintaining the established standards of quality for the department
  • Assist in the development and review of policy and procedures as they apply to sterile processing
  • Assist with sterile processing staff education, training, development and competency
  • Prioritize workflow based on the surgical schedule and case volume
  • Review sterilization logs and  scan documentation into CensiTrack
  • Check sterile trays and supplies for integrity and expiration dates
  • Act as a liaison between doctors, staff and vendors
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the department

Job Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Leadership as a Lead Tech Supervisor in a Trauma facility
  • Familiarity of AAMI and AORN Standards and regulatory agency requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Graduate of an Accredited School of Surgical Technology or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA)
  • Certified and Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required
  • Fire Safety within 90-days
  • Association of Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) Certificate required

Preferred:

  • Cert Sterile Processing Dist Tech (CSPDT-CBSPD)
