Supervisor Environmental Services
The posted compensation range of $34.50 - $41.88 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Responsibilities
- The Environmental Services Supervisor will provide day-to-day supervision for the EVS department under guidance of Director and/or Manager; ensures a consistently high level of environmental hygiene and aesthetics to patients, visitors and staff. This position also is responsible for daily oversight of regulatory standards, financial stewardship of department operations and collaboration with other management team members to support the department in its daily functions.
- Trains and develops a highly equipped and engaged Environmental Services Team using evidence-based techniques, process and mission metrics (KPIs) to ensure we provide a clean safe environment as we help save lives.
- Provides supervision of staff, making sound business decisions in support of the hospital’s mission, vision and values. Demonstrates supervision in providing an optimal environment for patient care, safety, service, and value. Supervises the day to day operations of the department; ensures a clean safe environment and aesthetics to patients, family, visitors, physicians, nurses and staff as we help save lives.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Required – High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum three (3) years environmental services experience
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of team members and management.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite, MS Project, PM software, and EVS software systems preferred.
- Experience with typical EVS equipment/machinery
- Demonstrates strong working knowledge of the principles of environmental infection prevention and control.
- Demonstrates strong working knowledge of OSHA, TJC, DOT, CDC Policy and Standard Work development/implementation.
Preferred:
- Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) certification
- 1 Year in supervisory level experience in supervising staff.
