Responsibilities
- Selects trains and evaluates staff; Establishes and maintains department staffing and schedules ensuring appropriate number of qualified/competent staff are available while maintaining cost effective staffing mixes and patterns; Ensures staff maintain facility with a high level of cleanliness and that department guidelines are followed
- Monitors bed discharge cleaning needs and ensures that discharge beds are cleaned in a timely manner and with a high degree of quality; Monitors daily equipment use cleaning and maintenance to ensure that all equipment is maintained in an appropriate working condition
- Maintains department quality improvement program and oversees the quality of service delivered ensuring that units are survey ready at all times
- Supervises the departmental inventory and allocation of resources as appropriate and ensures these follow hospital guidelines
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 3 Years in Environmental Services.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of team members and management.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite, MS Project, PM software, and EVS software systems preferred.
- Experience with typical EVS equipment/machinery
- Demonstrates strong working knowledge of the principles of environmental infection prevention and control.
- Demonstrates strong working knowledge of OSHA, TJC, DOT, CDC Policy and Standard Work development/implementation
Preferred:
- 1 Year in supervisory level experience in supervising staff.
- Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) certification.
