The posted compensation range of $44.91 - $56.45 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Biomedical Technician, you will be a specialized expert, ensuring the optimal performance and safety of critical medical instrumentation.
Every day, you will perform preventive maintenance on complex medical devices, manage installations, and execute all related repairs and maintenance under the Biomedical Program Manager's supervision.
To be successful in this role, you will apply strong technical aptitude, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving skills to support our healthcare operations.
- Independently perform complex troubleshooting and repairs on designated modality, with a 100% success rate of diagnosing a problem. Also independently perform installations, calibrations and preventive maintenance with no technical direction in that modality.
- Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on basic laboratory instrumentation including, centrifuges, cell washers, pipettors, dilutors, photometers and other light-based devices, glassware washers, histology equipment, biological cabinets and fume hoods (ESI/PA only, no calibration), osmometers, refractometers, shakers, rotators, temperature-dependent equipment, sweat chloride collectors and microscopes (PA only).
- Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on electronic devices which may emit coherent (low energy) electromagnetic radiation, such as; lasers and communication transmissions, as well as, electronic equipment which may emit infrasonic, sonic, and ultrasonic vibrations; to include: vibrators, oscillators, cauterizers, diagnostic and nondestructive equipment.
- Inspects new and repaired biomedical equipment prior to issuance to meet DHS, JCAHO and other regulating bodies requirement.
- Be able to read, analyze, interpret and follow signal flow on blue prints, schematics and wiring diagrams.
Required
- High School Graduate
- Minimum of 4 years broad based experience in the repair of complex medical instrumentation
- Fire Safety, within 90 Days
