The posted compensation range of $36.49 - $45.61 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Surgical Tech, you'll be an integral surgical team member, providing skilled assistance for safe, efficient procedures critical to patient outcomes.
Every day you will prepare the OR (instruments, equipment, supplies) and assist surgeons/nurses by anticipating needs, passing instruments, and maintaining the sterile field. You'll count items, handle specimens, assist with patient positioning, and adhere strictly to aseptic technique.
To be successful, you will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, strong sterile technique knowledge, and the ability to anticipate needs in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and a steadfast commitment to patient safety are essential.
- Demonstrates the ability to safely and competently perform tasks, skills, duties, procedures and responsibilities according to Medical Center Policy and Procedure. Including, but not limited to:
- Demonstrates ability to assess/interpret age-specific data.
- Encourages involvement of patient/family/significant other in decision making related to plan of care.
- Knowledge and Skills
- Demonstrates the ability to relate fundamentals of anatomy and physiology to surgical intervention by using appropriate instruments and equipment.
- Performs as a surgical technician by anticipating the surgeon's needs and providing the appropriate instrumentation and assistance.
Required
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program or previous experience as a scrub technician
- Three (3) years CVOR experience
- Certified Surgical Technologist or
- Technologist in Surgery-Certified
- Basic Life Support - CPR
Preferred
- High School Graduate or GED
