Retail Pharmacy Assistant
The posted compensation range of $24.00 - $29.10 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
Performs general clerical duties in support of the day-to-day operations of the assigned pharmacy. Work includes (but is not limited to) activities such as: stocking prescription and OTC medications, stocking non-pharmaceutical items for sale, medication delivery, answering phones, and performing charge and credit functions. Other duties may include, in accordance with state law, typing prescription
labels, filing, entering information into a computer system, and may label drugs for subsequent use in dispensing operations.
Job Requirements
- State Board of Pharmacy or Certification Pharmacy Tech required
- Any combination of experience and education that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities
- Ability to understand and follow routine to moderately complex verbal instructions and to maintain confidentiality of information
- Proficient in English with the ability to read, understand and communicate in English sufficient to perform the duties of the position.
- Strong proficiency with all standard office equipment and automated systems/applications/software, and knowledge of modern office practices within a retail pharmacy environment.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and abbreviations preferred
- Capable of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships as required by the duties of the position.
