Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Tech, Emergency Department, you will perform initial registration for all patients entering the Emergency Department. You will monitor cardiac rhythms for patients of all ages, and perform a variety of clerical duties to assist with the organization and function of the department.

Every day, you will perform a variety of technical skills and procedures to assist the nurse with the delivery of nursing care. You will interact with all members of the hospital staff, medical staff, patients, family, significant others, and community agencies in providing comprehensive care to patients of all ages. This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling our Mission. It is expected that you will demonstrate behavior consistent with our Core Values and support our strategic plan and the goals and direction of quality improvement/process improvement activities.

To be successful in your role, you will perform essential technical and administrative duties within the Emergency Department, ensuring efficient patient flow and supporting high-quality nursing care across all age groups. You will demonstrate exceptional proficiency in patient registration, cardiac rhythm monitoring, and a variety of technical skills, all while actively engaging with diverse stakeholders and exemplifying our core values to contribute to comprehensive patient care and departmental efficiency.

  • Demonstrates ability to assess/interpret age-specific data.
  • Encourages involvement of patient/family/significant other in decision making related to plan of care.
  • Maintains a safe patient environment: a.puts side rails up
  • ensures patient floor is clean/dry prior to patient ambulation
  • Maintains a neat and orderly patient environment

Job Requirements

Required

  • Minimum of 6 months experience as a pre-hospital Emergency Technician, EMT in a hospital or Paramedic.
  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Emergency Medical Technician: CA
  • AHA Basic Life Support - CPR
