The posted compensation range of $38.98 - $52.96 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Respiratory Support Specialitst RN, you will assist physicians, nurses and other hospital personnel in caring for and treating patients with cardiopulmonary deficiencies and abnormalities by applying therapeutic, preventive, and diagnostic procedures.
Every day, you will leverage your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care, making critical assessments, performing skilled procedures, and meticulously implementing patient care plans. You'll collaborate seamlessly within an interdisciplinary team, contributing to a dynamic environment focused on optimal patient outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you must
- Administer treatments and medications which promote pulmonary hygiene, improve pulmonary function, and improve respiratory status
- Implement oxygen, gas, and humidity therapy (maintaining oxygen and humidity devices and emergency equipment)
- Performs oximetry, safely obtains blood samples and verifies accuracy of results
- Set up, monitor, and maintain invasive and noninvasive ventilatory and oxygenation devices; recognizes and corrects malfunctions or inappropriate settings
- Strong patient care and customer services skills: provide high quality care and diagnostic services that are appropriate, efficient, and effective; ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of patients, ages and physical conditions
- Participates in patient's assessments/evaluations, maintenance of airways and ventilation, resuscitation efforts and other emergency medical treatments
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team with the ability to be self-motivated. Is dependable and reliable
- Stock supplies, prepare ventilators/Bipap and other equipment for immediate use; maintains a neat and orderly work area
- Proficiently perform all assigned tasks; manage patient flow; preparation, procedure and charges
- Demonstrates efficient multi-tasking skills, organizational ability and time management; electronic health record and efficient use of computer skills; work in stressful situations
- Provides proper patient information, medical history, and performs necessary duties in accordance with policies and procedures
Required
- Diploma Of Nursing
- Registered Nurse: MN
- Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 days
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), within 12 months
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), within 6 months
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), within 12 months
- Minimum of one year of ICU or ER experience and/or advanced airway management
- Current education on age specific assessments and interventions from neonate through geriatric
Preferred
- Previous hospital experience
