Responsibilities

The person serving in the position of Pharmacy Technician is responsible for providing medication distribution under the direct supervision, authorization and inspection of the pharmacist on duty.  The Pharmacy Technician performs all necessary clerical/bookkeeping duties within the department.  The person serving in the position of Pharmacy Technician serves in a multidisciplinary capacity providing general services to a wide variety of populations including pediatric, medical, surgical, orthopedic, geriatric, post-partum and nursery areas.  The Pharmacy Technician reports directly to the Director of Pharmacy. 


Qualifications

High School or GED

Current MN Board of Pharmacy Registration

Preferred

A pharmacy technician training program offered by Minnesota Board of Pharmacy approved vocational/technical institution or college 

A Minnesota Board of Pharmacy approved national organization pharmacy technician training program (ASHP program) 

Pharmacy Technician training program provided by a branch of the United States Armed Forces or Public Health Service 

240-hour Employer-based pharmacy technician program as approved by Minnesota Board of Pharmacy
