The posted compensation range of $36.94 - $53.56 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Stroke Program Coordinator RN, you are fundamental to developing, implementing, and evaluating our stroke program, ensuring quality, multi-disciplinary care continuum-wide. You'll partner closely with the Stroke Program Medical Director for program success.
Every day you will lead collaborative stroke care systems and services. You'll manage process/performance improvement for nursing and ancillary staff, plan clinical programs for high-quality outcomes, and advance patient/family and nursing stroke care practice. Your responsibilities include Stroke Program accreditations, quality assessment, improvement, and inter/intra disciplinary communications, plus collaboration on shared system/improvement projects.
To be successful, you must demonstrate strong leadership, program development, and quality improvement skills. Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building are essential for driving multidisciplinary stroke care, with a deep commitment to patient outcomes, accreditation, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate and maintain the certification of the certified stroke center under the leadership of Administration and the hospital Stroke Medical Director. Once achieved follow appropriate guidelines/recommendations to maintain certification.
- Identify and follow patients with stroke during hospitalization for the purpose of applying evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes, both physiological and financial.
- Mentor staff in using/fostering the use of evidence-based tools to improve the case of a stroke patient (stroke order sets, nursing care resource guide, patient educational tools). Facilitate neurological assessment skills for caregivers across the spectrum of stroke care. Maintain hospital-wide communication regarding the Stroke Program.
- Supports community screening and educational activities related to cerebrovascular disease.
- Maintains knowledge of evidence based practice changes, new research, and new recommendations from appropriate agencies.
- Demonstrate motivation for continued growth as an educator, and by active review of current literature, professional networking, and attendance at relevant seminars/conferences. Communicate educational offerings to the Stroke Team and keep track of the team’s stroke educational hours.
Job Requirements
Required: BSN or equivalent. Masters preferred
Clinical experience with stroke patients. Experience in teaching and/or clinical program development and ordinations desirable.
Minimum 5 years in nursing practice with 2 years in critical care.
Experience with data collection and statistical analysis preferred.
