The posted compensation range of $20.86 - $29.46 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing skilled mechanical maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and systems.
Every day you will troubleshoot, inspect, and maintain a wide range of machinery and building systems, executing preventative maintenance, responding to repair requests, and ensuring safe and efficient operation.
To be successful, you will demonstrate strong technical skills, meticulous attention to detail in diagnostics and repair, and the ability to work independently to minimize downtime and maintain operational continuity.
- Operates, maintains and repairs a variety of utility systems, ancillary equipment and facility assets such as chillers, boilers, kitchen equipment laundry equipment, air compressors, pumps, air handlers, medical gas/vacuum systems, pneumatic tube systems and water softeners.
- Operates, maintains, repairs a variety of basic electrical circuitry, switches, outlets, emergency generators and distribution systems. Services, repairs or replaces electrical appliances, motors and equipment. Troubleshoots basic electrical failures and malfunctions to determine course of action necessary to correct the problem.
- Performs preventative maintenance, basic repairs and alterations to plumbing fixtures, water lines and sewer lines. Troubleshoots basic plumbing failures and malfunctions to determine course of action necessary to correct the problem.
- Operates, maintains and repairs various alarm, signaling and monitoring systems such as fire alarm, public address, building management, master antenna, remote signaling and nurse call systems.
- Maintains equipment repair records in the computerized maintenance management system.
- Other duties as assigned will be carried out, such as but not limited to, moving, loading and unloading supplies, materials, furniture and equipment; removing and/or shoveling snow from streets and walks, locking and unlocking doors and completing housekeeping duties in the Facilities areas.
Required
- Driver's License: NE, upon hire
Preferred
- Associates Other in one of the building trades or 3-5 years experience in building/building equipment maintenance., upon hire and
- Approximately one year on-the-job experience in building maintenance and operation of ancillary equipment
