Journeyman Plumber
The posted compensation range of $25.42 - $37.82 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Spends majority of work time performing equipment repairs in accordance to assigned request.
- Detects equipment problems, purchases replacement parts and maintains the following equipment:
- Distilled water system i. Compressed air (mechanical/medical)
-Medical vacuum system j. Piping for steam/water/heat/air conditioning
-Sanitary sewer, ejector system k. Storm/floor drains
-Grease traps l. Acid dilution tank
-Condensate return pumps/traps m. Pressure reducing valves
-Drinking water pipes/cooler n. Sprinkler/standpipe systems
-Medical/natural gas o. Hot/cold water booster pumps
-Pipe insulation p. All auxiliary equipment
- On-call for emergency repairs/troubleshooting for the Medical Center.
- All Maintenance associates are expected to help during inclement weather/emergency conditions involving downtime of major equipment and systems within the Medical Center and Plant. Due to maintaining operation of the Medical Center 24-hours a day, each staff person will be required to work overtime as designated by the Maintenance Coordinator and/or Director of Plant Services. Those individuals who accumulate over time will be compensated in accordance with Medical Center policy.
Marginal Job Functions:
- Is cross-trained to lend support to other personnel (i.e. mechanic).
- Performs preventive maintenance activities.
- Performs other duties as required (i.e. cleaning, moving).
Job Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience
1. High school graduate or equivalent and training from a recognized craft apprenticeship required.
2. Where formal education requirements are stated, equivalent may be substituted.
3. One year of plumbing experience required.
4. Takes one year for an average performer to receive on the-job training to this position.
Required Licensure and Certifications
● AUTO:NE
● NFPA99: Health Care Facilities Code Certification (preferred).
● Journeyman Plumber licensure required.
Attends mandatory education program and maintains skills/competencies required for the position. Attends departmental meetings and in-services as directed.
