Job Summary and Responsibilities

Our Respiratory Therapists are highly trained and when it comes to performing specialized respiratory care for patients in the home setting. In this dynamic role you'll care at home for patients who need CPAP/VPAP devices, nebulizers, and other various home medical equipment.

  • Assess and evaluate of the appropriateness and effectiveness of therapy based on patient’s age, cognitive and physical abilities, and/or developmental needs.
  • Educates patients on disease process, test results and appropriate treatment. If appropriate make recommendations for changes in specific modes of therapy.
  • Ensures the patient is compliant and successful with therapy.
  • Providing follow-up assessments using language and materials appropriate for age, cognitive and physical abilities and/or developmental needs.
  • Obtain active insurance coverage, benefits and guidelines for coverage of equipment and supplies including obtaining prior authorization if insurance mandated.
  • Assumes responsibility for personal and professional growth through participation in department meetings, in-service programs and continuing education programs.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduate of an AMA approved 2 or 4 year, college based school of Respiratory Therapy, upon hire
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner: NE, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
