The posted compensation range of $16.42 - $23.19 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Arrhythmia Tech, you will be crucial in specialized cardiology care, managing diagnostic testing and vital cardiac device monitoring.
Every day, you will expertly handle trans-telephonic pacemaker monitoring (scheduling, recording, reporting), apply/schedule Holter/event recorders (with patient education), and perform essential cardiology diagnostic tests (ECGs, treadmills). You'll also manage patient data entry and actively train (with a preceptor) to advance pacemaker/ICD interrogation and evaluation skills toward an Arrhythmia Tech II level.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong technical aptitude, meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to continuous learning for optimal patient outcomes.
- Schedules, performs, and scans EKG’s, event and Holter monitors, patient hook-ups and report generation. Completes the next day’s schedule with reprogramming forms and confirms those appointments in the scheduling system.
- Communicate with physicians, managers, and co-workers as appropriate about changes in patient's clinical conditions, and informs provider of significant patient complaints and/or arrhythmia.
- Monitors and schedules pacemakers and ICD's evaluations, including the use of trans-telephonic and remote monitoring.
- Prepare reports of test results for interpretation by physician.
- Tracks pacemaker implants, ICD implants, device evaluations, Holter and event monitors, complications and incidents. Tracks information on patient charts as needed. Documents in progress notes for patient communication.
- Escalate non-routine issues to practice manager or physician.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate from one of the following healthcare educational programs: IBHRE, Certified Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, Emergency Medical Technician, or Bachelor or Associate degree in biology, human physiology, healthcare or equivalent required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required upon hire
- 1 year previous cardiology experience required
- Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, conductive system, and ability to interpret cardiac arrhythmias
