Job Summary / Purpose
The CHI Saint Joseph Health Administrative Internship is a 10-week unpaid program, requiring graduate credit*, based in Saint Joseph Hospital with CHI's Kentucky Division administration. Interns will report to the Administrative Fellows, while also having mentoring opportunities with many members of the Senior Leadership team, allowing intern's unparalleled access into how CHI Saint Joseph Health operates. Interns will be involved in a variety of financial, performance improvement, and operational projects, with the opportunity to lead one major project, which will be presented to Executive Leaders in the CHI Saint Joseph Health Kentucky Division. Internship projects vary based on organizational and strategic objections and have included; Analysis of a Gamma Knife Program, Gap Analysis for Trauma Designation, Improving Throughput Processes in Emergency Room, and Opening an Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. *Ability to receive graduate credit is based on the requirements of each graduate program. CHI Saint Joseph Health cannot bargain, negotiate or request credit be given on applicant's behalf.
Essential Functions
- Attend project meetings; coordinate and perform tasks as assigned by project leader
- Apply leadership skills and project management theories learned in the classroom
- Analyze and make recommendations for challenges encountered in a healthcare environment
- Complete and present assigned project work
- Collaborate and assist with project teams to assist in completion
- Research data and best practices related to Hospital Operations and strategy
- Present and demonstrate an understanding of key operational objectives
- Develop relationships with mentor and leaders to increase understanding of healthcare, organization

Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelors Other required upon hire.
Must be currently enrolled full-time in an accredited MHA/MPH/MBA program with a minimum 3.0 GPA required upon hire.

- Proficiency in Google Workspace products
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated time-management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn
