The posted compensation range of $62.00 - $62.00 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Pharmacist, you’ll help our doctors and nurses safely prescribe and dispense medications to help our patients feel better and recover from their illness or injury.
Every day you will meticulously review every prescription in your queue for safety, critically assessing for potential drug interactions, correct dosing, patient allergies, or any irregularities. You'll then authorize prescriptions for the pharmacy technician, performing a final check before dispensing medication to the nursing station, ensuring expert oversight in every process.
To excel in this role, you must enjoy learning new concepts and researching information in real-time to provide solutions for real people. You should also continually look for ways to go above and beyond for your patients, delivering an exceptional experience along with exceptional care.
- Compounds and dispenses medications. Interprets medication orders and/or prescriptions for drug interactions, appropriate drug selection and appropriateness. Accurately enters the order or prescription into computer system, labels, and dispenses medications in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates ability to document clinical activities and interventions such as consults, patient teachings and other patient specific information as defined by policy and procedure.
- Verifies and checks medications prepared by other pharmacy personnel.
- Communicates drug information to patients and health professionals. Resolves drug related problems by consulting with other health care professional to achieve appropriate patient outcomes. Unclear orders written by a physician are clarified with a physician. Assists the physician in appropriate drug selection and therapeutic regimens.
- Achieves and maintains an adequate basic knowledge base to provide clinical services for all age groups served. Provides basic clinical services as required by policy and procedure.
- Maintains a working knowledge of automated systems
