The posted compensation range of $24.27 - $36.10 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
Manages all aspects of the six CHI Saint Joseph Hospital Retail Gift Shops in Kentucky. Manages the daily operation of the Gift Shop(s) to ensure a smooth, efficient and profitable service that provides for the needs for patients, families, employees and hospital visitors. Maintains fiscal responsibility, inventory control and volunteer staffing of the Hospital gift shop and assists with overall management of volunteer department. Ensures merchandise is presented in aesthetically appealing display(s). Continuously reviews gift shop systems, policies and procedures; updating when indicated.
- Selects merchandise and services that meet the needs of customers and potential customers.
- Ensure that gift shop hours of operation maximize profitability: Volunteers are scheduled effectively; a monthly staffing schedule is prepared. Volunteers are appropriately trained and supervised.
- Implement appropriate buying plans that result in profitable sales and meet the needs of CHI Saint Joseph Health: Buys merchandise timely and appropriately, negotiates discounts and terms. Maintains a positive working relationship with vendors. Effectively orders, prices and displays merchandise.
- Duties may include light dusting and straightening of displays and merchandise.
- Restock merchandise as necessary.
- Ensures daily/weekly sales deposits are reconciled and deposited. Maintains cash register operations and balances.
Job Requirements
Required
- Three years of retail management experience.
Preferred
- College degree
- Previous experience in a volunteer setting
