Responsibilities
Job Summary / Purpose
Perform various tasks to support the laboratory technical staff, including blood specimen collection, specimen procurement, specimen processing, lab testing, send-outs, and the maintenance of quality assurance records, as well as, other duties assigned by director, manager, or other lab leadership. Is held accountable for policies and procedures of the department and organization. This position supports the mission, vision, and philosophy of CommonSpirit Health.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
- Receive and process samples to identify suitability.
- Prepare samples for testing using various types of laboratory equipment.
- Perform laboratory testing, including pH and bacterial culturing.
- Prepare and maintain accurate laboratory records.
- Label specimens accurately and distribute them to the appropriate department.
- Perform quality control as directed by the Lab Director.
- Clean and maintain work area and all lab equipment and supplies.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience | High School Diploma or GED |
Required Licensure and Certifications | Basic Life Support (BLS-CPR) |
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training | Minimum of two (2) years of Phlebotomy or Lab Assistant experience Ability to manage multiple priorities, detailed oriented |
