Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Radiation Therapist, you will administer individualized radiation therapy treatments to patients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to treatment parameters.

Every day you will verify treatment parameters, maintain necessary data, and meticulously evaluate patients daily to ensure safe and effective therapy delivery.

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong technical skills in radiation therapy administration, meticulous attention to detail in verifying parameters and data, and excellent patient evaluation and communication abilities to ensure optimal treatment outcomes.

  • Delivers prescribed planned course of radiation therapy to patient, including but not limited to, side effects, number of fractions, doses, and planned followup care.
  • Maintains quality of portal verification on each patient according to department standards.
  • Formulates, assesses, and maintains schedule for daily radiation treatment patients.
  • Performs simulation and simple dosimetry as required by unit.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to develop and implement a holistic, individualized plan of care.
  • Communicates and works with cancer patients and their families, dealing with all aspects of difficult care, including but not limited to, nutrition, pastoral care, psychosocial, end of life, and family dynamics, and refers appropriately.
Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D.
  • Graduated from an AMA approved school of Radiation Therapy Technology
  • ARRT registered within 90 days of date of hire
  • Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association
