Currently CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health is seeking qualified candidates for the position of middle school teacher at the Mary Francis Bachmann School. Our educational philosophy embraces a Waldorf-inspired curriculum where teachers, students and their families form meaningful relationships over multiple years of engagement, learning, discovery and development together.

As a Middle School Teacher with CHI St. Joseph Children’s Health at the Mary Francis Bachmann School candidates will:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning consistent with the philosophies and objectives of the Mary Francis Bachmann School.
  • Develop assessments that measure student growth and establish benchmarks to track long-term trends
  • Assist students in the use of learning materials and age appropriate technology..
  • Seek innovative resources to be incorporated into the classroom and shared with colleagues.
  • Set high standards for an inclusive and caring classroom environment reflective of our values of compassion, inclusion, integrity, excellence, and collaboration.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities to further student engagement, learning, and student enrollment/retention.
  • Adhere to policies set forth in the community and employee handbook.
  • Provide appropriate feedback on growth and development to children and families.
  • Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and uses information to adjust teaching strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
  • Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, policies and school regulations.
  • Participate in school and parent meetings and special activities.
  • Communicate information to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
  • Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse and cultural backgrounds and with varying academic ability levels.
  • Encourage parent and community involvement.
  • Maintain compliance with regard to state, federal and CHI guidelines.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

Education (including licenses, certifications):

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Pennsylvania State issued teaching credential preferred

Experience required and preferred:

  • Experience in elementary education required
  • Experience in leading co-curricular programs preferred
  • Bi-Lingual (Spanish) preferred
