St. Anthony Hospital is a Level I trauma center, which allows the Perioperative Department to see a wide range of patient needs and acuity levels. We are unique in the community because have a designated trauma room that is at the ready 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The trauma room (T-10) allows for the facility to triage any patient meeting specific criteria in an operating room, bypassing the ED, and has a designated response team of approximately eight different units with unique roles during a trauma team activation allowing prompt immediate surgical intervention within minutes of arrival by our partners in EMS and Flight for Life.
The surgical unit itself has 17 rooms including the trauma room, a hybrid room, designated cardiac OR and a Cystoscopy room. We have two DaVinci Xi Robotic systems allowing us to provide robotically assisted procedures in general, urology, gynecology and thoracic specialties. Currently there are 17 different specialties provided here at SAH including trauma, neuro, ortho, general, cardiac, vascular, ENT, plastics, urology, GYN, thoracic, and more. Our caseload for 2019 was 5,859 procedures in this unit alone.
