The posted compensation range of $34.14 - $59.33 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Manager, Sterile Equipment, you will manage the day-to-day activities related to the decontamination, processing, sterilization, and distribution of equipment and sterile supplies, ensuring optimal service delivery and patient care.
Every day you will develop a quality improvement plan, establish work process standards and performance goals, and take responsibility for staffing, training, performance management, compliance, and fiscal management of departmental assets.
To be successful in this role, you will possess strong leadership and operational management skills in sterile processing, expertise in compliance and quality improvement, and the ability to effectively manage staff, resources, and departmental assets while demonstrating alignment with the hospital’s mission, vision, and values.
- Selects, assigns and retains staff, ensuring equal employment opportunity in hiring and promotion.
- Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities and directing the work.
- Directs daily operations that relate to the reprocessing of reusable medical supplies and instrumentation including, but is not limited to, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Responsible for compliance with all regulatory agencies, Federal, State and hospital standards.
- Develops and monitors standards of decontamination, sterile processing and assembly of instruments.
- Assures the completeness and accuracy of all records and control and/or indicator logs as dictated by regulatory policies.
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Three (3) years of sterile processing experience
- Knowledge of all regulatory guidelines and standards of practice as it relates to AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission and OSHA
- Certified Registered Central Services Tech or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)
- Upon hire or within one (1) year of hire or transfer, one of the following: CIS, CSIS, CER, C-FER, CHL, CSPM, CASSPT
Preferred
- Associate Degree
- Two (2) years of sterile processing leadership experience
