Responsibilities
Analyzing lab testing is pretty complex. We depend on our lab staff to help determine what is happening with our patients. They are a vital key to the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Our phlebotomists work with patients to perform blood collection and specimen processing, as well as assisting with clerical duties and maintaining lab collection turnaround time. Some of what you will do:
- Practice positive patient identification and
- Establish good communication within the hospital
- Follow appropriate blood collection practices and procedures
- Perform Blood bank collections, adhering to specimen requirements
- Maintain order and cleanliness of phlebotomy supplies and environment
- Creates an atmosphere fostering teamwork and collaboration
Qualifications
What you will need:
No experience is necessary; you will be trained in appropriate phlebotomy methods
Education/Licensure:
High School diploma or GED
BLS through American Heart association within 90 days of hire
