Established by the Sisters of the St. Francis in 1924 CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 268-bed regional referral center in Kearney, Nebraska. At CHI Health Good Samaritan you’ll find an advanced level trauma center that also offers AirCare emergency helicopter transport and an ambulance program providing long distance and local 911 service. Among our many other services are cardiac care including open-heart surgery, a level II neonatal intensive care unit, a nationally accredited cancer center, comprehensive neurosurgery, advanced orthopedic program, and inpatient and outpatient mental health services at our free-standing Richard Young Behavioral Health facility.
Responsibilities
**5,000 sign on bonus for external candidates
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician, Licensed Practical Nurse functions as a vital member of the healthcare team who contributes to the success of the practice by demonstrating customer/patient focus, effective communication, professionalism, and teamwork. Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care provided to selected patient populations and their families.
- Performs basic nursing care to patients by following established standards and procedures.
- Collects patient data such as vital signs; notes how the patient looks and acts, or responds to stimuli, and reports this information accordingly.
- Prepares and administers injections, performs routine tests, treats wounds, and changes bandages.
- Prepares patient records and files using established medical record forms/automated systems and documentation practices
Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing program.
- Must have current/valid Nebraska Licensed Practical Nurse license.
- Must have BLS through the American Heart Association.
