Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Lab Supervisor, you will be a pivotal leader, directly contributing to the development of annual departmental goals, objectives, and budget, while actively facilitating their achievement and ensuring ongoing evaluation of results for continuous improvement.

Every day you will champion the needs of your patient care team, fostering their professional growth and development to help them reach their full potential, thereby aligning individual success with broader operational goals and objectives.

You possess exceptional communication skills, excelling in both individual coaching and group presentations. Furthermore, your ability to conduct challenging conversations with professionalism and empathy is crucial, as you are directly responsible for cultivating high performance within your team and ensuring the overall success of the laboratory.

Essential Functions:

  • Supervises, coaches, and reviews the performance of laboratory personnel to ensure adherence to relevant policies and ethics
  • Oversees designated laboratory day-to-day operations and exercises authority over personnel decisions
  • Analyzes and interprets laboratory results in accordance with established laboratory work processes
  • Administers laboratory inventories such as supplies, equipment and consumables
  • Selection of test methodology that is appropriate for the clinical use of the test results
  • Verification of the test procedures performed and establishment of the laboratory's test performance characteristics, including the precision and accuracy of each test and test system
Job Requirements

Required: 

Bachelors in biological or chemical sciences, as defined by CLIA, upon hire, and

Minimum of five years of experience at amoderate or high complexity laboratory, upon hire
