The posted compensation range of $17.71 - $25.02 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Scheduler, you will orchestrate a seamless and efficient care process for patients and providers by coordinating appointments and managing schedules.
Every day you will schedule patient appointments and coordinate multiple provider schedules for medical procedures, tests, and studies. You'll ensure timely scheduling through effective communication, accurately gather and verify patient insurance and documentation, process reports, and provide exceptional customer service to patients via phone and in-clinic assistance.
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and excellent communication and reasoning skills to manage scheduling complexities and patient inquiries, always striving for accuracy and efficiency.
- Receive incoming telephone calls; from physician offices, patients, or patient walk‐ins and schedule the requested outpatient test(s).
- Collect the appropriate level of demographic, clinical and financial information; including patient’s name, date of birth, ordering physician, ordered test(s), diagnosis, telephone number(s) and payment mode(s).
- Take into consideration the proper protocols for conducting each ordered test(s).
- Assess the proper amount of time that is required for the ordered test(s) and place the test(s) on the various department schedules.
- Inform the physician office or patient of their testing schedule, including time and location of each test, and any special instructions for preparation for the testing schedule.
- Receive physician orders for future scheduled events, verify accuracy of order and document receipt of order.
Job Requirements
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma/GED
- Two (2) years of related patient access service
Preferred: Experience in scheduling infusion
