Job Summary and Responsibilities

Responsible for financial performance of division of affiliation. Act as “top division Finance executive” and partner with Operations and Strategy in decision making and performance evaluation. Responsible for financial analysis to meet specific divisional needs, being divisional point to prepare budgets and forecasts according to Enterprise budgets. Work closely with the Enterprise finance teams and ensure the division adequately leverages centralized resources for transactional finance activities such as Accounts Payable, Fixed Asset accounting etc.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

  1. Act as strategic business partner to divisional leadership and foster close collaboration between divisional and Enterprise level finance teams
  2. Oversee development of budgets according to National targets and monitor adherence
  3. Analyze divisional financial performance and develop improvement plans as appropriate
  4. Leverage Enterprise level resources fully for transactional activity (e.g., accounts payable, Fixed Asset and Foundation/Grant accounting, payroll etc.)
  5. Ensure division complies with Enterprise established definitions and policies
  6. Ensure data and analytic transparency on divisional performance, trends and insights to appropriate Enterprise teams 
  7. Monitor adherence to budgets and division progress with respect to key Enterprise initiatives (e.g. COE Initiative, etc.)
  8. Lead interactions with local Board and Board Committees on financial matter
  9. Provide high level financial input on strategic initiatives
  10. Lead division finance teams when developing new programs, launching initiatives, planning and managing deals, and/or improving services for divisional teams
  11. Provide divisional oversight of the revenue cycle, managed care, supply chain Functions
  12. Review & monitor divisional JV arrangements
  13. Coordinate divisional treasury Functions/requirements with National office
  14. Act as division representative on Enterprise Finance Operations Leadership Council (“FOLC”)
  15. Manage direct reports including Divisional VP of Finance and Division Business Partners including hiring, evaluation, and coaching

Job Requirements

Required Education and Experience

  • Master’s degree, ideally in business/finance
  • Fifteen (15) years’ experience preferably in healthcare

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training

  1. Strategic mindset
  2. Deep expertise in Financial management and Accounting
  3. Experience with performance management
  4. Understanding of CHI’s service lines
  5. Superior leadership, management, and communication skills
  6. Ability to drive initiatives and achieve goals in a matrix environment
  7. Effective collaboration and negotiation skills
