The Market Manager of Simulation will be responsible for oversight and coordination of activities related to simulation, with oversight of the nursing simulation center for the Texas Division (Markets instead of Education). Reports to the South Region Director of Nursing Practice, Education & Research. Accountable for planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of simulation activities for nursing and inter‐ professional partners, designed to meet goals in professional development, improved outcomes, quality and patient safety. May provide leadership to other areas of education in the Texas Markets as needed


Responsibilities

1. Oversight of simulation center for the Texas Markets.
2. Works collaboratively with nursing as well as inter‐professional partners to develop and implement simulation activities to support transition to practice, quality improvement efforts, annual competencies, etc.
3. Integrates evidence based approaches to learning and simulation to promote excellence in practice.
4. Serves as a catalyst for change to ensure the organization remains a national leader in nursing practice.
5. Develops, integrates and implements goals of the division into services provided.
6. Assists with special projects in nursing, nursing staff development and other professional practice activities.
7. Facilitates a supportive environment for professionalism, excellence, collegiality and continuous performance improvement.
8. Exemplifies the organization’s mission, vision, and values and acts in accordance with policies and procedures.
9. Responsible for management of team members including evaluation of appropriate staffing and structure. Orient, on‐ board and train new staff members. Timely evaluation of the performance of direct reports.
10. Develop and track annual operating budget and expenses for department to ensure alignment with divisional budget allocation and performance goals of department are reached.
11. Provide oversight for all simulated learning experiences across nursing programs and courses, ensuring adherence to the Clinical Simulation Standards of Best Practice.

12. Coordinate and supervise the daily operations of the simulation laboratory, ensuring the provision of standardized simulation experiences that meet educational and clinical standards.
13. Oversee the maintenance of equipment and supplies necessary for effective simulation-based experiences, including communication with third-party vendors and collaboration with organizational leadership.
14. Ensure compliance with skills and simulation program policies, best practices, and safety measures to meet course learning objectives, course outcomes, and program outcomes for various nursing programs.
15. Engage actively in department clinical professional meetings to foster collaboration and continuous improvement in nursing education.
16. Supervise instructors' activities in the simulation lab, ensuring that all critical care classes and simulation activities align with organizational policies, critical care nursing standards, and best practices.
17. Manage the use of clinical learning labs for various functions, including regular classes, open lab sessions, boot camps, advanced clinical skills training, Nursing resident clinical experiences, critical care fellowship program and Competency Examinations.
18. Oversee the RQI certification program across the Texas markets, ensuring alignment with AHA standards and RQI vendor collaborative agreements.
19. Coordinate the standardization of acute care and critical care device education across the Texas Market to enhance learner proficiency and ensure a consistent educational approach.
20. Collaborate with faculty and staff to assess and improve simulation-based learning experiences, incorporating feedback and best practices to optimize educational outcomes.
21. Stay updated on advancements in simulation technology and nursing education to ensure the simulation center remains at the forefront of innovative teaching methodologies.


Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

*BSN and Master’s Degree in relevant field of study *Registered Nurse (RN)

*Seven (7) years of experience in the discipline to include:
*Three (3) years experience in simulation in a clinical or academic setting

*Five (5) years of leadership experience


Required Licensure and Certifications:

*BLS, ACLS, and PALS

* Registered Nurse (RN)

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abillities & Training:

*Ability to design and implement clinical scenarios.
*Experience with range of simulation equipment including high fidelity simulator.
*Ability to manage and troubleshoot AV equipment.

*Experience with post simulation debriefs.
*Excellent customer service and communication skills required in order to lead, teach, and persuade others.
*Ability to provide constructive feedback, hold crucial conversations, coach and mentor.
*Must be able to travel as necessary to division meetings (intermittent day travel as well as occasional overnight travel).
*Maturity, good judgement, dependability, tact, diplomacy, a good attitude, treating all individuals with respect and fairness, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential.
*Incumbent has access to restricted or confidential patient or other highly sensitive business information and must comply with the terms of the organization’s policies as they apply to their job role.
*Must have proficiency in working with computer software including Microsoft and other windows‐based systems.
*Must possess excellent data analysis skills and be proficient in data evaluation and presentation.
