Job Summary and Responsibilities
This pivotal role serves as the Market VP Philanthropy, Houston for St. Luke’s Health’s three Texas markets, encompassing the greater Houston area, Brazos Valley, and East Texas. This includes fundraising responsibilities for Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center in the Texas Medical Center and numerous other St. Luke’s Health facilities across these regions, including The Woodlands Hospital and St. Joseph Health in Bryan/College Station.
Responsible for the implementation and execution of an ongoing, comprehensive fundraising and development operations, in support of and in concert with the mission of the Foundation and supported organizations.
- Leads the development of a comprehensive, annual fundraising plan which responds to the defined needs of the foundations and supported organizations.
- Manages and oversees professional fundraising and support staff, and is the Foundation lead with Board and community leaders in growing financial and public relations support for the associated supported organization(s).
- Directs and oversees the receipt of charitable gifts, their financial stewardship and their ultimate distribution to the hospital and related entities, to ensure continuous support of the foundation and supported organization(s) mission.
- Acts as the senior major gifts and planned giving officer, actively managing a
portfolio of prospects and donors, meeting regularly with donors and prospects to
create and foster relationships.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Master's degree in a related field or a combination of education and/or additional job-related experience may be substituted in lieu of the degree.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of not-for-profit fundraising and development experience. Minimum of five (5) years of management experience.
Licensure:
- Certification as a Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) preferred.
