The posted compensation range of $16.00 - $21.83 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. As a Cook at St. Vincent, you will support the healing process by preparing meals and menu items for our patients, their visitors, and their caregivers.
To be successful as a cook, you should be able to use various cooking techniques and methods to prepare meals that meet our customers’ expectations. Ultimately, a top-notch cook should be able to handle multiple food orders without compromising on quality. You also understand that cooking for patients requires extra diligence with sanitation protocols.

Responsibilities
- Prepares menu items according to standard recipes
- Maintains equipment in kitchen to standard
- Maintains kitchen area to state required sanitary standards
- Completes all tasks on duty while adhering to safety standards and policies of the hospital
Qualifications
- Two years Food Service experience required. Cooking experience strongly preferred.
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current (within the past 12 months) ServSafe® Allergen and Food Handler Certifications. If not currently certified, certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
