HIM Rep Lead
The posted compensation range of $15.75 - $21.30 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Responsibilities
Under limited supervision, responsible for handling permanent medical records of patients ensuring records are complete, accurate and adhere to standards.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
- Assemble patients’ health information in chart.
- Ensure all forms are accurately completed, properly identified, and signed.
- Ensure patient medical records are indexed and stored appropriately.
- Obtain and handle medical record document requests from outside parties, which may include subpoenas, FMLA forms, etc. for response and regulation compliance.
- Train and provide direction to HIM staff on record management.
- Scan and/or manage the scanning of pertinent information into patient’s EMR.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Education for Staff Job Levels:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
4 years related experience in a healthcare environment required.
PREFERRED Qualifications:
Completion of medical record technology or medical terminology course preferred.
Knowledge of practice management and word processing software.
Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational skills.
Demonstrate effective customer service and communication skills.
Ability to use good judgment in the course of contact with physicians, patients, staff, and outside sources.
Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism.
A team player who handles multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment.
