The posted compensation range of $24.10 - $34.94 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Educator develops, coordinates and implements education programs and support services to serve the needs of community members. Provides knowledge that is relevant to coping with illness, promoting recovery to healthful living and appropriately involves the consumer in his/her healthcare decisions. Ensures customer's initial contact with the WomensCare Center is one that fosters a sense of security and confidence.
- Assess community needs by engaging the target population and partner organizations in program planning.
- Formulate appropriate and measurable program objectives.
- Plan curriculum content, sequence, and activities for customers and their families.
- Act as a facilitator and consultant to support education goals in caring for hospital customers (in-patient, outpatient, and community).
- Use a variety of methods to implement strategies, interventions, and programs.
- Develop and maintain departmental policies and procedures in compliance with hospital, state, and JCAHO regulations and standards.
- Ensure the patient's or customer's initial contact with the Resource Center fosters a sense of security and confidence.
- Provide one-on-one coaching to individuals seeking this service.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Experience teaching and working in the community.
- Bachelor's Degree in Health Education or related field.
- Ability to work independently, set priorities and manage work within timeframes, read and analyze technical material, communicate effectively verbally and in writing, positive mental attitude.
- Strong customer service orientation and the ability to handle highly confidential information essential. Must be computer literate.
