Radiology Technologist
The posted compensation range of $43.34 - $43.34 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Radiologist and/or Radiology Manager, the Imaging Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative in his/her areas of expertise, at a level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.
- Supervises and trains technologists, ancillary personnel and students assigned within their department.
- Demonstrates the ability to understand the unique infant/child, adolescent, adult and geriatric population and effectively meet those needs relative to growth, assessment and development of the patients. Activates repairs and controls work progress within the areas of designated responsibility.
- This position is represented by SEIU, Local 1107 and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- Must be capable of performing all routine diagnostic procedures independently, including but not limited to: routine, fluoroscopy, OR, trauma, portable radiographs, and limited specials such as Myelograms, Venograms, and ERCPs.
- Successful completion of a fully accredited training program (full accreditation means the training program is accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or a similar, nationally recognized accrediting agency), in the pertinent modality for which the employee is being hired.
- Successful and valid registration/certification by a nationally recognized accrediting agency in the specific modality for which the employee was hired — or registry-eligible, with valid registration/certification obtained within four (4) months of hire date.
- After one year of satisfactory performance as a validly registered/certified technologist in the specific modality for which the employee was hired, the employee will be reclassified to the Imaging Technologist classification.
- Modality-specific advanced level registry must be obtained within twelve (12) months of hire date.
- Should any of the above requirements (completion of the program or achieving registration/certification) not be obtained within the specified timeframe, a single three (3) month extension may be considered and granted at the discretion of management.
- Failure to obtain valid certification will result in immediate termination of employment.
- CT CPRBLS = Basic Life Support CPR.
- Must have one of the following: registry or certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (RG ARRT, CT ARRT, CT CATTECH, CT MMRT, CT MRITECH, CT XRT), the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (CT NMT), or the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (RG ARDMS).
- Must be available to participate in on-call rotations and arrive at the hospital within a 30-minute response time.
