The posted compensation range of $22.85 - $22..85 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Responsibilities
Job Summary:
The Environmental Services (EVS) Staff is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment within the hospital to ensure the health and safety of patients, staff, and visitors. This role involves cleaning, disinfecting, and maintaining patient rooms, common areas, and clinical spaces according to established infection control standards and hospital policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Clean and disinfect patient rooms, operating rooms, exam rooms, and other clinical areas using appropriate cleaning agents and disinfectants.
Maintain cleanliness of hallways, waiting areas, restrooms, cafeterias, and offices.
Properly handle and dispose of biohazardous waste, sharps, and other medical waste according to hospital and regulatory guidelines.
- Assist in terminal cleaning after patient discharge or transfer to prevent infection transmission.
- Adhere to infection control protocols, OSHA standards, and hospital safety policies.
- Assist with special cleaning projects as assigned, such as deep cleaning and emergency cleanups.
This position is represented by SEIU, Local 1107 and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to work independently, set priorities and manage work within time frames.
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous hospital or hotel experience.
High school education or equivalent.
