The posted compensation range of $24.39 - $24.39 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
Position Summary:
This position requires knowledge of hospital and departmental policies and procedures and assumes the responsibility and accountability for the clerical duties in the Health Information Departments. This includes the retrieval of discharges and loose filing documents, transcription tasks, and the prepping and scanning of loose and ED documents received by the Health Information Management Department ensuring timely accessibility of information for quality patient care.
- This position is represented by SEIU, Local 1107 and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Job Requirements
Minimum:
- Working knowledge of computer applications. One year experience in medical records, clerical, office or related field.
- High School Diploma/GED
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
- Ability to perform other clerical department functions as requested.
- Working knowledge of form identification and content of the medical record.
- Responsible for ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of protected health information.
- Ability to be flexible and do other tasks and job functions assigned within the department when in need or when census is low.
- Must have developed skills in the area of interpersonal relations. Has daily contact with other hospital staff and physicians as well as physician offices and the general public.
