Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Certified OB/Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting with patient care within the assigned work area and participates as a member of the health care team.

  • The Certified OB/Surgical Technologist contributes to the care of the patient by following established Surgical Services standards.
  • The Certified OB/Surgical technologist demonstrates understanding of the birth process and related needs.
  • Assists physicians and licensed staff in preparing equipment and supplies for delivery and subsequent care of patient.
  • This position is represented by SEIU, Local 1107 and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Surgical Technologist.
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • CT CPRBLS = Basic Life Support
  • CT ORT = Certified Surgery Tech Nat'l. Current employees, hired in this position before January 1, 2018, have been grandfathered and are exempt from the requirement to obtain NBSTSA certification.
  • Surgical Technology training - Earns 15 units of continued education every year as required by NBSTSA.
  • Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.

Preferred:

  • CST certification provisioned through the NBSTSA preferred, but may be grandfathered in compliance with current Nevada Revised Statutes.
